I am trying to find any information on Harriett Sacker. She was born between 1807 - 1810 in Virginia. She married William Slaughter from Tenn. They had at least three children: 1. Martin Slaughter b. 10 Aug.,1837 in Tenn.
2. Emanunel Slaughter b. ca. 1838 & 3. Margaret Slaughter b. ca. 1844 in Virginia. I don't know if she divorced William or if he died early.

Harriet married secondly on April 10, 1851 in Smyth County, Virginia to a widower named John Cordell (also spelled Caudle, Cordial, Coddle, Cordele and even Candle or Candel, depending on the recorder). John Cordell had several children by his first wife, Ellen Miller).

John & Harriet moved to Lawrence Co., Ky. around 1859 and Lawrence Co., Ohio by 1860. In 1864 Harriet lived at Amanda Furnace, Greenup Co., Ky. John was killed in the Civil War
on 4 July,1864. Harriet lived with her son, Martin Slaughter, in 1870 and until her death on October 25, 1894 in Ironton, Lawrence Co., Ohio.

If you have any information on Harriet Sacker or William Slaughter please contact me at jpfannin[AT]

Thank you.
