Daniel: I have not been able to trace back to Hans Sachs personally. We were told that someone in our family (abt 1910) traced our roots to Hans Sachs.

My family immigrated from Luderode Germany which is now Weissenborn-Luderode, near Erfurt. Was in eastern bloc almost on the border. I have the Sachs family myself traced back to the town and their records go back to late 1700's documented in the Catholic church in Luderode.

The following info was found.
JOSEPH SACHS..son of FRANZ the taylor and REGINA HENKEL born 3/29/1842 Luderode

FRANZ SACHS AND REGINA HENKEL MARRIED IN
WEISSENBORN 6/29/1841

ANNA REGINA HENKEL born 8/19/1815 in Weissenborn

FRANZ SACHSE born 12/23/1812 Luderode
father Nicholaus Sachse
mother Catharina Sachse, native name Fischer

This is as far back as I have gotten. I know Hans Sachs was born in 1400's.

This is all the info I have at this time.

Tx., Carlyne
