Dear Sissy; I wish I knew where Eliza came from or who her parents were, but unfortunately I haven't had much luck with her. Family lore says her maiden name was Eliza L Sachs; I assume Elizabeth, but don't know for sure. Maybe L could stand for Lich! Also don't know if they were German, although parts of PA/OH did have lots of German immigrants. Her granddaughter wrote that Eliza was born in PA, but 1880 census says OH. I also don't know why or when she went to CAN, or even when she died. Her oldest daughter did also go to CAN (1930's?) but don't know if there's a connection. WHere was your John born/raised? Do you know if he had siblings? Is Sachs an uncommon last name? Can you give me any suggestions for further sleuthing? Thanks! Lynn
