My name is Mary Sachau Boggio. Boggio is my married name. I live in Colts Neck, New Jersey (USA)
My great-grandfather was John H. Sachau, born 28 Oct 1837 in Holstein, Germany. He died 14 July 1900. He was married to Louise or Louisa (I don't know her maiden name). She was born 17 July 1841 in Hamburg, Germany. Died 18 March 1926. I don't know when they were married. They had two sons, William E. Sachau, my grandfather; and John C. Sachau, my uncle, both born in New Jersey (USA)
William E. Sachau, my grandfather, was born Sept 1872 in New Jersey. died 29 May 1939. He was married to Helena Schuemann, born in New Jersey. Helena's father was John Schuemann, born 25 May 1851 in Germany His wife was Anna Sprossig, born abt 1858 in Germany.
My grandparents, William and Helena Sachau had two children. John Otto Sachau, my father, born 7 July 1910 in Weehawken, New Jersey, died 6 Aug 1983; and H. Louise Sachau, born Jan 1909 and died one month later in Feb 1909.
My father, John Otto Sachau, was married to Mary Hannan, my mother. They had two children, John A. Sachau, my brother; and me, Mary Louise Sachau. We were both born in New Jersey.
I would appreciate it if you have any information on my German born great-grandparents or their ancestors. To repeat, my great-grandparents were;
John H. Sachau, born 28 Oct 1837 and his wife Louise born 17 Feb 1841 and
John Schuemann born 25 May 1851 and his wife Anna Sprossig (not sure of the spelling), born abt 1858
If you are interested in the decendants of John Otto Sachau, my father, please let me know. They will be myself, my children and grandchildren; and my brother and his family.
