Robert,
I have have researched Sachaus from Lunden, Kr. Norderdithmarschen, Holstein. Johann Sachau married my gr grandmother's sister. All came to US. Johann and Anna Gruhl Sachau first settled in Chicago 1880's til 1890's. Then followed Anna's sister's family to Kossuth County Iowa.
Don't know if there is a connection, but the Sachau name is not very common.
