My ggggrandfather was Sherrod Sabin...born possibly in and around Cazenovia NY 1822/1823...he is shown on the 1860 census as living in Fenner NY (the name is mistaken as Sherwood)with his wife Betsy A Smith b 1823 and daughters Rhoda b 1855 and Charity b 1845. Charity is my gggrandmother m Charles Bosworth. They are all buried in the same plot in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Canastota NY.
We have since found references to a Samuel Sabin (m Susan Swift and Charity Miller) who was born and had his family in Cazenovia and later moving to Fenner...I am wondering if these are the same family. Sherrod and Betsy were married in 1842 and it shows that all of the other Sabins left somewhere between 1840-1850 to go to WI and beyond. My thought is maybe Sherrod and Betsy stayed behind at the family home after their marriage when everyone else headed west. I am also wondering if he might be the son of Samuel and Charity...as some references have him born earlier.
Does anyone have any information that may solidify all of this for me.
