I ordered this obit in a desperate search for my husband's ancestor, but this was not her. I also made notes of 1900, 1910 and 1920 census records where this lady was enumerated.
From the Terre Haute Tribune, Wednesday, Dec 28, 1927, page 2.
MRS. MARY RYON.
Paris, IL (Edgar Co). Dec 28 - Mrs. Mary Ryon, 88 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs John Zimmerman, 313 East Madison street, following an illness of several years. She was born May 27, 1839, and was a daughter of James and Mary Ann Stewart. She was reared on a farm south of Paris. On January 20, 1864, she was united in marriage to J. W. Ryon, who preceded her in death about thirty-three years ago. To this union eight children were born, four of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Etta Zimmeraman, Paris, with whom she made her home; Mrs. Ada Hudson, Star City, Ind.; Mrs. Stella Poole, Redmon, Ill., and O. F. Ryon, Charleston, Ill. Two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Snedeker and Mrs. Angeline Cryder, and one brother, James Stewart, all of Paris, also survive her. Mrs. Ryon was a member of the First Christian church of Paris.
