In Reply to: DNA Project by Roger Ryburn of 102

A year has passed and we still need participants in our Ryburn DNA Project. We know of two other Ryburn families that very likely are of our same line. Most likely are descendants of James Ryburn of York Co., PA in 1700's and the other is a William Ryburn in Pittsylvania Co., VA in 1782. The latter family moved to TN later. The two Roger refers to who have been tested, we believe were in York Co., PA before moving to Washington Co., VA about 1780.

If more descendants would participate we might find connection of these 2 or 3 lines. In Wash. Co., VA, was a cousin of William Ryburn named Mathew Ryburn and he and his sister have been traced to Campbeltown, Kintyre, Scotland. I hope I have stirred up your interest.
Betty
