Parents of Henry and John Ryan 1840 Ireland

I am attempting to locate the parents of Henry Joseph Ryan born 1842 and died New Tipperary, Tipperary, Ireland 1897.He married a Margaret Mary Scully location and date unknown. Several of his children came and lived in New Zealand, one ( Denis )to the USA and one (Matthew) to Australia. 2 daughters stayed in Ireland I believe. Ellen/Helen/Nellie married a J R Condon and Bridget or(Bridie) b 1887 no other details known.

His bother John Ryan b 1832-1840 approx, emigrated and was in New Zealand in 1867 and is buried in NZL. John married a Christina Keane from Wicklow, Ireland (she came to NZL in late 1871 or early 1872). They had 3 sons. Only one had siblings.

At present dates and names of the ships that those who came to NZL have been fully identified.

Family tradition and Johns marriage records state that he was from Tipperary, Ireland but no more detail.
If naming tradition is followed then the Parents names are Matthew and Mary but if I have missed a birth then Henry and Mary.
Research via www.brsgenealogy.com/ to find the parents have not been successful. I have also used the TFHR for some research but only with moderate success and not for the parents.

I realize that this is a real needle in haystack request but after 20 years + research I am willing to try anything to get over or around this brick wall.

So if anybody can assist or give me other avenues to go on I would be most grateful.
Thanks
Kevin
