Hello Rick:

I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.

Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.

Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).

For Richard Staunton B 1860 +/- 2 yrs somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown, I found 2 rcds: 1858 and 1862, both in Co. Cork. Neither of these fit your Mayo origin criteria.

For Mary Ryan B 1850 +/- 2 yrs somewhere in Ireland with a father forenamed George, I found 1 rcd in 1849 Co. Limerick.

For Dan(iel) Ryan B 1846 ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1845 Co. Tipperary.

For John Ryan B 1845 ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1844 Co. Tipperary.

For Bri(dget) Ryan B 1843 ditto, I found 4 rcds: 1841, 2-1842, and 1845 all in Co. Tipperary.

For James Ryan B 1842 ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1843 Co. Tipperary.

For Mic(hael) Ryan B 1839 ditto, I found 2 rcds: 1838 Co. Tipperary, and 1840 Co. Kilkenny.

For Fra(ncis) Ryan B 1837 ditto, I found 1 rcd in 1835 Co. Tipperary.

For Ellen Hassett M 1833 +/- 2 yrs somewhere in Ireland, I found 3 rcds: 1833 Cork, 1833 Limerick, and 1835 Limerick.

For Ge(orge) Ryan M ditto, I found 3 rcds: 1831 Down, 1833 Kilkenny, and 1834 Tipperary.

For Ellen Hassett B 1812 somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown, I found 2 rcds: 1810 Limerick, and 1811 Cork.

For George Ryan B 1803 ditto, I found 3 rcds: 1801 Limerick, 1802 Tipperary, and 1805 Kilkenny.

None of the B rcds exactly match the DOB stated in your post. Therefore, they are all iffy. However, if you got your dates from census rcds, it isn't unusual to find discrepancies. One sure thing is Tipperary appears to be the common county. Suggest you search at the parish level to see if there is a common parish. If so, these are likely for your ancestors.

For the M rcds, there doesn't appear to be a match.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
