My gr grandfather, Patrick Ryan b. Ireland came to US before 1874 as my grandfather, John Joseph was b.24 Aug 1874 in Hartford, Connecticut. I was told my gr grandmother's maiden name was Meloy but no proof or a first name. My grandfather had a sister named Mary but no other siblings names known. Could any of the Irish researchers tell me what port of entry they may have come thru since settled in Conn? I would love to know where in Ireland they came from but given up hope of finding more about the family since name so common. My grandparents died in 30's and living cousins do not know anything about the family.
If someone could give me a thought of port of entry I would appreciate hearing from you.
