Margaret, unfortunately I just saw your post so I hope that you can still be reached through this site 7 years later. I am told that my greatgrandfather was Patrick Ryan of Rosenara near Kilmoganny. Married to Honorah or Anna Ryan from Tipperary. He was a stonecutter and I believe he helped build the church in Kilmoganny. Not sure that the dates match exactly but the family folklore is that Patrick and Anne met in London in the 1820s and she bailed Pat out of jail. Interesting, Pat and Anne supposedly came to America in the 1840s but then went back to Kilmogany where they raised their family. His son John was my grandfather and raised a family in the Bronx. John was not born until 1869 which makes me believe that the 1820s date for the London misadventure might not be correct or else they were very special people. We believe that my grandfather John had brothers named Michael (reputedly died in NYC in 1923), William and Patrick and a sister named Mary who died very young. We're not sure if there were other sisters but we believe that some of the other brothers settled in the NYC vicinity.Although my father's generation is gone there are many descendants and we are all in touch. Sounds to me as though there has to be some relation even if not through Patrick.Would love to hear from you and discuss further.
