Suzanne P. Ryan, nee Polmear (1945-2006) Chicago, IL
Suzanne P. Ryan, nee Polmear, age 61, of Oak Park, at rest April 23, 2006. She was a gifted teacher spending many years at Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Ignatius and Providence-St. Mel High Schools as well as DePaul University's School for New Learning where her prestigious memory and story telling skills brought to life her love of all things Irish, Indian and of the 60's. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard ''Pat'' Ryan; her four children, Michael (Moona), Martin (Lisa), Daniel (Kristen) and Rebecca (Elisabeth); and her seven grandchildren; she is also survived by her mother, Joanne Polmear; and her eight beloved sisters and brothers as well as numerous nieces and nephews. An avid reader and believer in words. A note in her famously neat handwriting hanging in her front window read ''Feed the Hungry. Be filled with mercy. Lend a hand, a buck, a voice and hug all those you care for.'' All who knew her were touched by the enormity of her generousity. A Celebration of her Life will be held at DePaul University's School of Music Concert Hall, 800 W. Belden, Chicago, Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Suzanne and Pat Ryan Scholarship Fund at the School of New Learning, 25 E.
