Further to my original post, this is an outline of my information:

I am descended from John Rutter who was living in Toronto, Co. Durham at the time of his marriage to Elizabeth Parsons, also of Toronto.

They were married at St Ann's Church, St Andrew Auckland on 20th March 1880.

John was 22 and Elizabeth was 19 at the time of their marriage.

According to the marriage certificate John's father was Thomas Rutter, Miner, and Elizabeth's father was Timothy Parsons, deceased.

John and Elizabeth Rutter had 4 children:

John Thomas, (mar. Mary Elizabeth Masterman),

Margaret (mar. Arthur Gent),

Mary (mar. James Goldsborough), and

Joseph (mar. Edith Annie Stevens of Cockfield).

Joseph and Edith Annie Rutter (nee Stevens) lived at 19 Rochdale Street,Evenwood and had three daughters:

Margaret Elizabeth (mar. Trevor Morgan Williams) - these are my parents

Edith Annie (mar. Andrew John Pearce)

Doris (mar. Norman Nicholas Lock)

Joseph and Edith Rutter, my grandparents, migrated with their three daughters to Melbourne in 1928. The three girls all married here.

My grandmother died on 28th January 1948 here in Melbourne.

During his first trip home to Evenwood since 1928, my grandfather died and is buried in the Evenwood cemetery. He died on 4th July 1953.

John Rutter's first wife, Elizabeth (nee Parsons) died. I do not know the

He married a second time to Annie-Isabella Dixon. She died June 1928 and is
buried in the Evenwood Cemetery.
