I thought I would post this info. just in case it may be helpful. My connection is not through the Rutledge line, but rather the Ledbetter/Marquess line.

Valna Belle LEDBETTER, daughter of Williams Lovejoy Ledbetter and Permelia Ellen Lyons, was born ABT 1881, and died 1908 in Texas Co., Oklahoma. She was buried in Next to her parents in Nabisco Cemetery, Texas Co., OK. She married1 Homer RUTLEDGE, son of John Wesley Rutledge and Susan Hannah Lyons, 14 SEP 1898 (married by JG West at L. Ledbetter house). He was born 1 Mar 1877 in Vermillion Co., IL died in Tama Co., Ia. She married2 Delmer Harrison MARQUESS AFT 1898 in Iowa, son of Isaac Taylor Marquess and Susan Catherine Teter. He was born OCT 1877 in Missouri, and died 1955. He was buried in New Jersey.
Child of Valna Belle LEDBETTER and Delmer Harrison MARQUESS is:
i. Lora Belle MARQUESS was born 27 FEB 1908 in Oklahoma, and died 24 JAN 1991 in Los Angeles, California.

Valna (17yrs) and Homer (22yrs) married 14 SEP 1898 in Appanoose Co., Iowa. I thought that perhaps he had died before she married my grgrandfather Delmer Harrison Marquess, but after running a couple of searches it appears that Homer also remarried. He married Eva Streat/Street on 21 MAR 1900 in Centerville, Appanoose Co., Iowa.
We have also noted a possible connection between Valna Belle's grandfather William Hiram Lyons (abt1817-1900) and Homer's mother Susan Hannah Lyons (1841-1916).
Which could suggest that Valna Belle Ledbetter and Homer Rutledge were cousins? This may be the reason they were only married a short time, annulment perhaps?
