I have an obituary from a Pittsburgh newspaper dated 1862 referring to my John R. Rutledge as the nephew of Edward Rutledge of SC.

However, I have not yet found a link between the two. I think someone way back ... made it up. LOL I'm currently reading the "John & Edward Rutledge of South Carolina" in an effort to find something relevant.
