in 1870, Isaac was in Macon County Al, with wife Sara E., and children: William, Henry, James, Josephine, Elizabeth and Charles. Isaac and Sara were born in Georgia, all the children were born in AL.
In the 1855 AL census, Isaac was in Macon, AL.
He appears to have fought with the 34th Alabama Infantry, CSA, so, he must have been one of the good guys.
1830 Census for all Georgia, looking for Rutherford with very young son:
Isaac (A son of Thomas Rutherford?), 2 sons under five; Claibourn, 2 under 5; Hiram, 2 under 5; James, 1 under 5;
William, 2 under 5; All these were in Gwinnett County.
Benjamin, 1 under 5; Monroe County
John Rutherford, 1 under 5; Twiggs County
Mary Rutherford, 1 under 5; Washington County
John Rutherford, 1 under 5; Wilkinson County
Newton County, Georgia was created in 1821 from parts of Henry, Jasper and Walton counties. There were 1033 families in Newton County, But, there were no Rutherford, Retherford, Reatherford, or any "soundex" Rutherford families. None were there in 1840, either.
