I appreciate all the ideas. Any ideas are welcome. But I can't write that James in Sevier County off as not being there in 1820. I do believe my James came from eastern TN and the one in those 1811 records could very well be him. I do wish that 1820 census for Sevier County was there.We do have him on the 1830 census of Jackson County AL. If the 1820 for Sevier County TN was available and a James was there, I could maybe tell by the ages and children if it was my James. Those missing census are a real roadblock for this time period.
