Yes, there were three on one ship, they were Samual, John and Richard and I think the year was 1716 all were from Scotland. The ship sailed out of Glassgo. I've seen several others on other ships and they got listed as " prisoners " in the captains log.
Those photos I scanned to you last night, did you get them? The one with the plaque that gives a brief history of the castle had to be enlarged to read it and I was wondering if you got it alright and can read the insrciption. Just in case it didn't show up right, that photo is a clan castle and the clan castles do not and never did look like the ones in movies. There is no moat, turrents and there was no drawbridge. The main entry door was 8 to 12 inches thick and took 3 people to open it. There was a small door built into it for just general foot traffic. The Traquair photosare exactly like the Jedburgh castle and those show up better. One interesting part about these castles is that they were never placed under a sige. In part because to do so was to invite other clans to attack whoever tried it. The only known sige on this type of castle was by the romans who were driven out of the area by 4,000 Scots that banded together. The castle was under sige for less then 4 days and the Scots totaly destroyed the roman legion and about 50 romans escaped. The reason it was such a defeat to the romans was in part because the attack happened at night.
