Any idea if these are some of the Rutherford's that when coming to America were part of a group that perchased land through the Blunston licenses ? This is from part of the William Penn land treaty he had with the indians and before surveys were done, licenses for ownership of land were issued first. A James Rutherford had been one of the perchasers as were a William and a Robert Rutherford. These three may have been brothers and two of them had moved back to Trenton NJ by 1760 after the land under the treaty became questionable as to who owned what.
