Dorothy RUTAN

Has anyone ever found one or considered another name for the Dorothy RUTAN who married Nathaniel DRAKE around 1750's? They had children and she is buried at the Scotch Palins N.J. Batpist Churchyard date 1781.

For some reason it is impossible to find a recording of that particular name for her as a birth name and I can not even find a marriage record. there are two known documentations of the marriage being a fact...one is the will of Nathaniel DRAKE of 1801 and the other is the book written by his grandson, Dr. Daniel Drake.
This has been "bugging me" for a long time.

Regards,
Linda
