Linda: I have Maria Rutan b 1810 the d/o Peter Rutan and Charity Corselius orignally from NJ. According to LDS records she m (1) John Murphy in 1834 in Butler Co. and (2) Hiram Lyons in 1846 in Crawford Co. While I am satisfied that there was a Maria the daughter of Peter and Charity, the LDS records regarding the marriages are not necessarily reliable and may refer to another Maria.

There was a Jesse Rutan b 1799 in MD living in Crawford Co. in 1850 (federal census). Jesse was indirectly related to Peter.
