We know that no names were altered on arrival for two reasons.
1. Names were entered on the ship's manifest in the old country from documents the passenger carried. All our immigration clerks did is mate each name on the list with face to make certain the person was who he claimed to be.
2. In this case the names looked to be properly spelled in POLISH except the second name could have a vowel for the second letter rather than the "z".
The name spellings suggest these folks were Polish. From about the 1790s till 1920 Eastern Poland was part of the Russian Empire. That is of little importance today. Where they came from was Poland before the Russians took over and after the Russian were thrown out. The records are in whatever location these folks lived in. To find the records, tho', you have to know where they come from EXACTLY. All the old records are indexed by EXACT location.
