KRANN, Frederick Charles or Charles Frederick, 1894

I'm giving this name another try here. I've searched for his immigration to the US in 1894 till I am blue in the face and cannot find any records. If anyone has more access or knows another process I welcome the help. He supposedly arrived in the US in 1894 probably to NY, and then to Cleveland,OH. Perhaps the records have a different spelling for the last name or even the whole name.

He, due to an accident, died in 1906 in Salem, OH. His naturalization papers were in process but never completed. All noted on the papers was that he was shown as Charles Frederick Krann, and from Prussia. But he went by the name Fred. According to 1900 Cleveland, OH census, he was written as Fred Kran. How do I find when he arrived in the US, what ship, from what port?
