Uptons in Russia after 1855
Posted by: Michael VandenBosch (ID *****1514) Date: September 10, 2013 at 07:50:23

I am searching for any information about siblings of William Upton in Russia. They lived in the Crimea (Sevastopol) in 1830s - 1850s. There were 4 boys (Samuel, William, John and Thomas) and 4 sisters (Mary, Sarah, Susan and Emma). The parents were John and Mary Upton.

Colonel John Upton was the engineer in charge of the Sevastopol Dry Docks and the fortifications - eventually destroyed in the Crimean War.

After the Crimean War, William left for England and moved to Canada leaving all family behind.
