As usual you are amazing. You helped me with my Spisak line a few years ago. I have not yet received the document but they did marry here. They were both here 4 years before they married and could have learned enough English to communicate. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Marriage Index, 1885-1951 Name: George Nemec Gender: Male Spouse: Anna Gromma Spouse Gender: Female Marriage Place: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Marriage Year: 1916 Marriage License Number: 350185 Digital GSU Number: 4141890 As far as George's name goes it was listed as in the Naturalization record in 1929. In the Burial records it is showing up as: Name: Geyza Nemec Birth Date: abt 1892 Event Type: Burial Burial Date: 16 Jul 1930 Burial Place: Marion, Montgomery, Pennsylvania Organization Name: Westminster Cemetery Company The problem with the place of birth listed in the Census records is that they tended to use the name of the area as it was currently called not what it was. So Russia for Anna was what it was commonly known as at the time of the census. No I had not been able to locate the original manifest. THank you for pointing me in the right direction. Also providing the name of what the area is currrently know as. Will get back to you with what else I find. Again thank you and bless you for helping. Notify Administrator about this message?
