Hi Claire,
My family too, went from Latvia to Tomsk in the very late 1800's (until 1904, when they returned back home, the father of the family was sick and died).

I've been doing a lot of research in Latvia (based mostlyon the Lutheran church records mentioned above). There was a large family called Redlich in the area (same small estate., even) where my family was from (Lieldzelda, Aizpute aprinki, Kurzeme).
If you know anything (names dates, anything) of your ancestors who would have been in Latvia, I'd be happy to help you find some records...
