Just a P.S. to my last post, to add that question to the heading.
I do think that it is a real possibility. His son was knighted by Henry, and it may well be that Reingolde was of great service to the Tudor court, to gain such favor for his son. And of course he was undercover as a Catholic, and then most likely as Church of England.
It might be worthwhile to research Thomas Crammer, to see if Reingold worked for Crammer. He may have been part of the team that sold off all the lands and materials from the monasteries and convents for Henry VIII.
