Benjamin (or Benjamon) B. Taylor
I have joined the search for information re. the family of Benjamin Brannon Taylor, variously spelled 'Benjamon' or 'Benjaman'.This B.B. Taylor was born in S.C. in 1828, married Rachel Louise (or Louisa) Cathcart in Rock Hill, York County, S.C., and was part owner of the India Hook Mills in York County, S.C. before coming to Texas circa 1864-5.B.B. and R.L. had at least 8 children:Florence Eugenia, Joel Barnett, James W., Emma J., William Capers, Mary F(rances)?,Lou Anna, and Sarah C. (Cornelia?)Florence, Emma and Joel all married members of the Lowrie family in East Texas. Many of the Lowries and some of the Taylors are buried in the Campgrounds Cemetary near Kaufmann, TX.Benjamin Brannon and Rachel Louise are both buried in the Pine Grove Cemetary at Henderson, TX.
Rachel Louise lived to the age of 101, and apparently was sometimes called 'Rebecca'.Benjamin Brannon died in 1904.
Joel Barnett Taylor, b. 1855,was one of the three sons who married Lowries.Joel married Missouri Josephine Lowrie.
Their youngest daughter, Leila Emma (or Emma Leila)b. 1/11/1900, was my mother. The only child younger than Leila was Collin, who married Alva(?) Love Nail. All five of Collin and Alva's children are still living in Texas and N.M.
