Jane Rushlow Besaw...Canada, Clayton NY, Carthage NY
Hi,
I am looking for information on Jane Rushlow, who married Eustace Besaw. An old newspaper clipping says they may have emigrated to northern N.Y. from Howe Island, Canada. Jane's headstone says she was born in 1837/died 1917. I know that they came to the U.S., settled in Clayton, NY, and from there built a homestead (which is still standing) in Carthage NY. We have very little information on Jane as far as where she was born, her parents, etc. Here is what we do know. In 1914 she recieved a Christmas postcard from Belleville, Ontario, the card was signed Violet Rushlow, and she referred to Jane as "Auntie". Thus far, I have had no luck finding a Violet Rushlow in Belleville, but I see that Rushlow's did live there during that time. If anyone has any info to help me connect Jane Rushlow to her parents, etc, I have all the rest of the lineage after her completed.(Also have photos of all her descendents.)
Thanks,
Kelly
