Hi Nancy, Glad to get your response! The reason I posted...Rushings from Robertson County, Texas, is that I was raised in New Baden, moved away after getting married, moved back later, raised my kids, and we are trying to search the geneology of my Husband whose surname is RUSHING. His family came from Oaklahoma. His grandfather died at a young age, and his grandmother remarried into the Mincey family. That's where the story ends. In my research of my home county,(Robertson), I noticed that in our "History of Robertson County" book, that the Rushings are mentioned quiet often. I thought that the name "Rushing" was unique and that these people would just have to be related somewhere down the line, but I really don't have much to go on. I am also writing a small home town book labeled "My Neighbor's Memory Lane", and if I discovered that the Rushings of Robertson County were indeed related, I would like to include something about them in the book. Any information that you might know about a Mr. H.A.Garland who built a cottage across from the old Cavitt house would be appreciated also. The word is...Mr. Garland was a principal in the Old School House of Wheelock. We live in the old house and are remodeling it. I love finding out the history of old places and the stories about the people who live there. Thank you so much for any information about any of these subjects. John Luther Rushing m. Ova Mae ?(Ova remarried Dewey Mincey) John L. Rushing James Franklin Rushing m. Ida Agnes Holder Frances Carrel Rushing (f) Linda Mae Rushing (f) Barbara Ann Rushing (f) Larry Don Rushing (m) my husband James Wayne Rushing (m) There is a mention of an Aunt Settie(?) and maybe a brother named Charlie? We do have a couple of old photos but there's no proof of who some of the people are. Notify Administrator about this message?
