From Anson Co., NC Deed Bk. 4:209--William Thomas sold to Mark Rushing for 10 pounds 300 acres on Thompson's Creek--his patent of 22 DEC 1770--dated 25 AUG 1773 and witnessed by Robert & Tristram Thomas Deed Bk 4:210 Mark Rushing, planter, sold to James Little, house joiner, for 32 pounds, 150 acres on the North prong of Thompson's Creek patented by William Thomas 22 DEC 1770. Signed by mark M for Mark and an X for Elizabeth Rushing, his wife! Witnessed by Malachi Watts and Thomas Creel. Creel used T for his mark. Regards, Virgil Huntley
