I am looking for information on SUSAN RUSHING listed as age 30 in household of ROBERT WARD in 1850 Benton County,TN.
She is listed with children: WILLIAM RUSHING 9; DIANNA RUSHING 7; ELENDOR RUSHING 5;& ELIZABETH RUSHING 3.
By 1860 Susan has 3 other children and all of the children are listed as WARDs in the Robert Ward household, but Susan is no longer there. The other 3 children are SUSANNA born about 1852/53, SEABORN Abel born about 1853/54,and RANSOM born about 1856. Another son ROBERT must have been with Susan. By 1870 Susan is back living in the 9th district, but husband is still missing. In 1880
she is living in the 9th dist with daughter Ellen, son Lewis, daughter in law Fannie (wife of Seaborn Abel)and grandson Sherman. The only information that I have been able to find on any of these is on sons William and Seaborn Abel. A Ward cousin visited the Andersonville Prison site and found some information. William Rushing may have died at Andersonville. It also said that Seaborn Abel's uncle was Robert C. Rushing and that he was a Color Bearer for General John A. Logan. Who was Susan Rushing? Was she related to either Robert Ward or his wife Frances? They were living one family away from widow of Hardy Rushing, was Susan connected to the Hardy Rushing family? Any information or thoughts appreciated. Any information on any of this family appreciated.
