You may already have picked up the following info since you posted your message about Frederick William Rushbrooke and Mary his mother last year. There is a September quarter 1894 marriage for a Mary Ann Rushbrooke and Frederick Rowe at West Ham District. There is also a Frederick William Rushbrook birth in September quarter 1893 at Dartford. It's not that far between the two districts, particularly if Mary followed him to London. I don't have much info on Rushbrook or variants outside of Suffolk at present but I know that there were some in Kent in the late 1800s. We are currently doing a Rushbrooke one name study in an attempt to trace our own family in Suffolk, but we also collect all info on the name and its variants, some of which you can currently find at www.rushbrook.org.uk. My grandmother's maiden name is Rashbrooke, but they have also used Rushbrook and possibly Rosbrook down the generations! If you take a look at the website, please let me know what you think as I've so far had 38 hits but only 1 response which is disappointing, albeit at present that the guestbook isn't working.
