Helen,
You seem to know a lot about my great-great uncle and his family. Last month, Nov 2008, my mother and I visited the family plot at Fairmount Cem in Jackson County. (I have photos if you'd like to see them). We also tracked down the old run-down farmhouse.
As for the mine explosion, there were three sons killed on the same day, 22 June 1937. I found their death certificates and it is just heartbreaking. I also have a copy of the newspaer article.
Please contact me: JKBaldwin<at>insightbb.com and we'll exchange information. We are trying to get all the information on all of their children. My mother remembers them but we need to nail everything down.
