According to my understanding of the spelling of Wurtemburg, I have seen it spelled many different ways. I think it depends on who was writing it and the period in history. Where did your Martin Ruoff go to? From what I understand all Ruoffs and variations are some way related. There is supposed to be a family crest. They were supposedly descended from the Teutons. I have a lot of information, but no way to hook it up to my Carl August Ruoff. Even the emigration and ships lists don't show either he or his sister at the time that he is supposed to have emigrated. I found him in a Minneapolis-St. Paul directory, which was a thrill. There are a couple of websites by some European people but they are written in German and I don't understand German and they only go to the mid-1800s. I tried to send two of the contributors E-mails but the E-mails came back.
