Hey everyone, my name is Steve Runyan. My grandfather put together a comprehensive family history about 15 years ago, and tracked it back to the 1600's.

Vincent Rongnion came over from France, although recent research dictates that the Runyans, as we've come to be, were located in Normandy, and some went to England while others stayed in France.

From there, Vincent landed in Piscataway, New Jersey. The family went from there to Virginia, Ohio, and New Hampshire. I am from Massachusetts originally so I would probably be a descendant of those who went to New Hampshire.

I've seen many Runyans in Illinois, Michigan, & California also. Consequently, according to research, anyone with the last name "Runyan," "Runyon," "Runnion," "Runion," & "Rognon" are all descendants of Vincent Rongnion.

I personally went to Piscataway about a decade ago, and found an old cemetary which is kept by a local Boy Scout Troop. In the cemetary there are about a dozen headstones with many "Runyan" names, although I did not find Vincent.

This cemetary is located across an open field, currently owned by the Chanel Factory. Across the busy street is an old, brick & mortar wall which looked like it was really old, although I'm not sure more than 100 years. I just thought it was interesting looking.

If you want any more info, or if you have any info, please contact me here or at the listed email. I look forward to completing my grandfather's work.
