Linda,
There's a couple of Mary Ann Tinker's, everyone seems to have the one that was born in 1842, she's not the one.
Although I believe she's related to me through my Parks
family. I can't find any info on her, no records, but
she is the one my father said was part Cherokee.
My father when he was alive is the one who said George
Runnion was William Samuel's brother.Married to Aunt Nan,
Had Tommy & Berry, he George died, she remarried a Wells,
had 3 more boys.So I'm sure it's the right George.
Mary Ann Tinker & William Samuel Runnion were definately
Married, the date I gave you before was filed Nov.13,1851
besides the one census in 1860, which lists Squire Runnion
30 yrs. old, gunsmith wife Mary also 30 yrs. old (most researchers agree she was born 1830-32, this would show
she was born 1830 by this census of Washington Co.,Tn.
Lists only the other 3 children, Margaret Alice Runnion,
b.abt 1854 d.?, William Samuel Runnion, b. March 5,1857 D. June 30, 1931, Lodelia (Laura C.) Runnion, b. abt. 1859, D.?,( George S. Runnion, b. abt. 1868, so wouldn't of
showed up on this census). So if Squire was in prison,
in 1863 and didn't show up on the 1880 census with all the
others.Did he die in prison in 1863?Or did he get out
of prison, sire George in 1868 and died before 1880 census,
or be somewhere else during that census?
Margaret married William K. Foster on 31 Mar 1878 in Unicoi Co.,Tn,William Samuel married Lydia E. Parks,
Laura C. marr Andrew Bowman, children Nora Bowman b.
Oct.1880, Everet Bowman b. Mar 1884
Then as my father said George married Aunt Nan (Gillis)
I believe who is buried at Tinker cemetery #1.
As I stated most of my immediate relatives are buried
at Tinker cemetery #3.
So we have a couple different spellings of Runyan,
Runnions, Runion in different census. But most of this
family settled & stayed in Flag Pond, Erwin, and that
area.
Could you tell me what census lists Mary with sons?
If William Esquire "Squire" died in 1863, then Mary
would've had to have George with someone else.I
think in the 1880 census everyone is listed except
William Squire, however he could have been somewhere
else instead of dead.It has the grandparents,Thomas
"Tommy" Runnion and Elizabeth Hensley & some of their
younger children.
If any one reading this has any information about this family, PLEASE, I've hit a brick wall on Mary Ann TInker
born abt. 1830, and more info about this family.Alot of the records for this area were destroyed in a fire & that is what makes it so hard to get recorded info.Would
appreciate any other info someone willing to share. My email address is [email protected]
Belinda (Runion)Catalano, my father was Wanson Homer Runion
born in Erwin, who's father was James Runnion, whose father
was William Samuel, whose father was William Esquire"Squire" Runnion (Runnions, Runyan).
