Most of what I found regarding this RUNION family came from census records found while researching the families of Cherokee County, NC. I havetwo RUNION/RUNIONS sisters who married into my HARTNESS line.
According to the 1860 census for Cherokee County NC, Wiley Sr was born in Yancey County, NC and his wife in Buncombe County NC.
1850 and 1860 they were in Cherokee County NC
1870 they were in Morganton, Fannin County, GA
1880 in Manchester, Clay County, KY
1900 in Laurel County KY
The children I found were Thomas L born 1846-1847 Buncombe County
Samuel born 1850-1851 Cherokee County
Wiley J born 1853-1855 Cherokee County
Squire born 1857-1860 in Macon County NC
Ann born about 1862
David Sherman born 1865-1867
The two RUNIONS that are actually part of my family tree are Mary Elizabeth born Aug 1841 to Thomas and Jane; married Lenoard HARTNESS and her sister Sarah born Mar 1842 and married William Thomas HARTNESS. I don't know if this Thomas RUNION/RUNIONS was related to Wiley or not.
