Page 131 of "Runyon Genealogy" by Robert & Amos Runyon printed 1955 says;
"Elijah Runyon was most likely married in Monongalia County circa
1772.He is also listed in the 1785 tax list of Harrison County and was included
in the 1790 census with his wife and two children. ...
Elijah and his wife were born before 1775, either in New Jersey or
Augusta County.The 1810 U.S. Census of Harrison County lists Elijah and wife as
being more than forty-five years of age.They had three sons between 10 and 16
years, and one daughter more than 16 years of age. ..."
The 1962 supplement to "Runyon Genealogy", page 219:
"Elijah Runyon 1757 - 183_
Elijah Runyon (Runion) applied for a pension from Jackson County,
Virginia (now West Virginia) June 22, 1833.He stated in his application that he
was born in Shenandoah County, Virginia July 11, 1757.He lived there until
he enlisted in the Revolutionary Army. After he was discharged from the
Revolutionary Army he lived in Ohio County, Virginia until the winter of 1781 and 1782,
when he removed to Harrison County, Virginia.He lived there until the year 1815,
then he settled in Mason County, Virginia.his residence was located on Prinz Creek, which is now
in Jackson County.Pension Application Number 26390."

Page 132 of "Runyon Genealogy" by Robert & Amos Runyon printed 1955 says;
"Elijah Runyon, Jr. was born in Harrison County in 1806.The 1850
U.S. Census lists him and Rebecca, his wife as living in Lewis County,
Virginia. They then had three children:(a) Mary. (b) William. (c) Jacob.
Elijah, Jr. was living in Lewis County before 1830, or he may have
lived in that part of Harrison County which later became a part of Lewis County.
In 1830 Elijah and his wife were under thirty years of age, and they had one
daughter under five years of age."

Notes for HENRY RUNYON, JR.:
On page 132 of "Runyon Genealogy" by Robert & Amos Runyon, published 1955, it states that Henry Runyon, Jr. built the first water-propelled mill near Spencer, Roane County, Virginia. The Henry Runyon mill was later owned by Gilbert and Isaac McKown and was in use for many years.
