Hello Mark, meet another Mark Rumsey!
I’ve been hoping to see another Rumsey with an interest in DNA and genealogy. I just submitted a 37-marker test kit to FamilyTree DNA, and as you know it will take several weeks before I get the results of the test.
Based on your past Rumsey Forum postings, it looks like you and I are not closely related. But that might be good since we have a fairly uncommon surname. I believe I descend from Robert Rumsey who settled in Fairfield, Connecticut, in the mid 1660s. My lineage is very much restricted to the northeast of the United States, and before then England. To be more exact here is my direct lineage from my immigrant ancestor Robert Rumsey down to me.
