H. M. Rumbley, b. NC abt. 1807
Posted by: Charles A. Clay Date: May 12, 2001 at 01:32:56
  of 73

Found in 1850 Census, Union Co., IL:
H. M. RUMBLEY, 43, M, Farmer, b. NC
Elizabeth (wife), 40, F, b. OH. Children are:
Mary, 18, F, b. Ia
John, 16, M, b. Ia
Thomas, 12, M, b. IL
Marion, 14, M, b. IL
Jane, 12, F, b. IL
James, 8, M, b. IL
Marinda, 5, F, b. IL
Calvin, 2, M, b. IL
Ellen, 2 F, b. IL

Have reason to believe this family might have lived in Iowa before living in IL. Its also possible that <Ia> is the enumerator's abreviation for Indiana. About 1855 they have removed to Anderson Co., KS and were one of the first white settlers on the South Pottowatomi in Anderson Co. Any help with more information on this family would be greatly appreciated.

With thanks,
Chatles <>
