Hi, I am Wanda Ruggles Irvin . We have searched and looked up Salmon Ruggles in the records at the Hempstead County Courthouse and also at old Washington Ar. archives.
Salmon Ruggles came to Arkansas with Robert Irvin (my husbands'great great grandfather. He owned around 350 acres of land in Hempstead County in the 1800's.
I am interested in where he originated from. My grandfather Ruggles came to Arkansas in 1911 and lived in Hempstead County. His family was from Kentucky. We never knew there had ever been any Ruggles in Arkansas until we read about Salmon and Robert Irvin in the Goodspeed History books
