I'm not sure if I will be of any help to you or not. I am also interested in knowing more about the Ruffin family. My mom was Jackie Ray Ruffin, born in 1944 in Wilson County. Her father was William Gray Ruffin. As best I understood, he was killed in a truck accident when she was a small child. Not sure if they were married or not, but my mom's mom was Daphne in Wilson, NC. There were 2 other girls that were older than my mom and their names were Jennie whom married a Bullock and Jean whom married a Garris. I nver knew much about my moms family, but would like to. After William was killed, Daphne married to a Wilkerson and the children were put in Foster Home at Kennedy Home in LaGrange, NC. There were 3 more children by the Wilkerson man. I am interested to know about the Ruffin family. My mom use to tell her final memories of her dad and they were very touching. That was the only time she would ever talk about, but I gathered they were close and he was a good man.
