I'm looking for a needle in a haystack and I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm trying to find some information and documents on a Major Dave or David White who married a widow Mrs. Carver Price. In a 1938 letter by Mary McGehee Taylor, d/o Mary Price McGehee, she states that her "Grandma" White was born in 1818, a d/o of Agnes Dandridge Ruffin, had 6 sisters (Mrs. tunage, Mrs. John Wallace, Mrs. Rosa Ruffin, Mrs. tom Johnson, Ellen Lytte) and one brother, William Dandridge Ruffin. She also stated her "Grandma White" married (1) Carver price whom she gave birth to 3 daughters (Agnes, Betty and Mary Price who were twins) and married (2) a widower "Maj. Dave White" who had 2 daughters, Sarah and Margaret, who married two brothers, William and Thomas Ruffin. She also stated in her letter that the above Agnes Price also married a man named Dave White who was a nephew to Maj. Dave White. I am trying to learn more about this Maj. Dave White, who he was, who were his parents, and who were his siblings. I'm also wanting to know who the nephew Dave White was as well. If anyone knows anything about these Ruffins and may have records to support these marriages and relationships, I would love to discuss these with you. I'm trying to research and document my Shelton White family of Panola, Desoto and Pontotoc Counties, Mississippi. any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
