Just came across this the other day, but in the book Recollections of the Early Settlement of the Wabash Valley by Sandford C. Cox is the story of George Holman and Richard Rue's Indian captivity in the 1780s. (pages 111-134). The book is online at the Brigham Young Unv. online collections at:

In the Text Collections Search box type in "Rue Holman" and the 5th or so result down is the book starting at page 111.

The article, written by a grandson of Richard Rue's mentions Edward and George Holman (1760-1859). These families were from the Harrodsburg KY area and later to wayne Co., IN.
