I realize your message is really old, but I'm looking too. My father-in-law's great grandmother was Malinda Rue. She married Elias Preston in 1843 in Jessamine County, Kentucky. Malinda Preston's death certificate does not give her father's name, but lists her mother's maiden name as Rosie Bell Owens. Malinda's birthplace is listed as Tennessee. There were a few other Rue marriages in Jessamine County, including a Joseph Rue who married Amelia Cobb. Joseph's father, John Rue, gave consent for him to marrie Amelia. I'm thinking that it is possible that John Rue was also Malinda's father. The only John Rue that I could locate in the census was in Mercer County, Kentucky. He was listed as Johnathan Rue. The Preston's lived in and around Jessamine, Garrard and Mercer Counties during that time frame. Joseph Rue and William Rue appear too young to be Malinda's father. It is possible that they were her brothers.

Any info. would be helpful.
