I checked the book today at the library, and it indicates that a Jonas Rudisill married Maria Elizabeth Moul, of York County, Pennsylvania, in 1754. He was one of the very early settlers in that area, his family from England. The book states that this Jonas Rudisill didn't move into North Carolina, as did his son Jonas in later years, along with other Rudisill families. The author did not know, however, what other children Jonas and Maria Rudisill may have had. Their son, Jonas Clark Rudisill, married Mary Carr (Karr) and died in McComb County, IL, 1853. This Jonas Clark Rudisill had married three times, the third being Mary C. Webster. In total, this Jonas' children were: Rufus, W.K., Mary A., Louise, Jonas C. (said he died an infant), John C. (died in Civil War in Arkansas), and James M. (born McComb, IL, 1849).

I find clues that this Illinois Rudisill clan may have ties to your Jonah (Jonas?) Rudisill (see my previous posting), but nothing was mentioned of them in the book.

The 1860 census in Hancock Co., IL, Pilot Grove, lists:
Jonas CUTTER, age 20, farmer, b. IL
Martha CUTTER, age 61, born VT (assume it's mother to Jonas Cutter?)
Edith Cutter, age 17, b. IL

Next door is:

Wealthy Rudisill, age 22, b. IN

The 1870 census for Hancock Co., IL, Appanoose:

Applegate, Hariet, 33, b. OH (is this Hariet Rudisill?)
Applegate, Kate, 5, b. IL
Applegate, Otaway, 4, b. OH
Applegate, Effie, 3, b. OH

The 1860 census for Washington Township, Lee County, Iowa, lists:

The 1850 census for Lee Co., IA, Fort Madison lists:
Dwelling 151:
Baker, Joseph, 60, farmer, b. Germany
Rediesel, Rosanna, 43, b. OH (Rudisill??)
Rediesel, Hariet, 15, b. OH
Rediesel, George, 13, b. OH
Rediesel, Jonas, 10, b. OH
Rediesel, Elizabeth, 7, b. OH
Rediesel, William, 28, b. OH
Rediesel, Jane, 20, b. OH

I hope this is helpful to you.
