Peter..thanks for's what I know: my great grandfather, Augustine "Austin" Joseph Ruddy was born in Louisburgh in 1839, came to Us (NY) in 1862 with his wife..Bridget Jennings of Stockport, Eng. (1838-1901). Went to work for a concrete co. in Boston then to New London, Ct. in 1875.He died there in 1930 and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetary along with other relatives. There are still Ruddy's in New London today. I would be most interested in obtaining data as to where he lived, his parish, what type of work he did (farmer or fisherman) and on which ship he came to NY and of course his parents names etc and how we may be related. My father grew up in NYC as his father went to dental school there and established his family in the big apple. I though am a product of Westchester Co. NY and now live in southeastern Ct.Hope to hear back from you soon.
