LuRose,

I had most of that information. I also have that Archibald's wife was Elizabeth Beggs, 1730-1787. Their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Ruddell Married Thomas Davis, also a successful statesman. Their daughter Sarah Davis married John Lyon, my 4 g grandfather.

His wife was also related to the Ruddells and is the subject of my original posting reagarding the DAR application.

Elizabeth Preston is supposed to be the wife of Captain George Ruddell, but I am having a devil of a time finding information on her. The marriage dates make it impossible that it would be the George who married Mary Goare and Magdalene Byrd, and yet the DAR application clearly implies that is was the same George whose brothers established Ruddell's Mill

What would geneologists do without such puzzles to figure.
